Accessibility
Doodle Checkers (the website doodlecheckers.com and the Doodle app). Accessibility statement, last updated 2 November 2026.
We want every child to be able to play Doodle, including children with disabilities. We work towards the Israeli standard IS 5568, which follows the international guidelines WCAG 2.0 at level AA. Doodle is partly accessible today: what works and what does not yet work is listed below, honestly.
What we have done
- Big buttons: every button and link on the menus and sheets is at least 44 by 44 points, checked automatically on five phone and five tablet sizes before each release.
- Calm motion: the game follows your device’s “reduce motion” setting, and a Calm button in the settings makes the moving characters and effects slower and softer.
- Time: in Doodle Checkers and Doodle Chess the move timer for games against the computer can be switched off.
- Sound: sound effects and music can each be switched off in the settings. Nothing in the game needs sound to be understood.
- Colours: the two teams on every board are checked for how easy they are to tell apart, including for colour-blind players, and pieces have an outline and a halo against the board.
- Buttons and controls on the menus have text labels for screen readers, menus can be closed with the Escape key, and the page text can be zoomed.
- Simple words: the game speaks to children in short, plain sentences, and there is no chat or free text.
What is not accessible yet
- The game boards are drawn as pictures. A screen reader cannot read the board yet, and pieces cannot be moved with the keyboard; they need a mouse, a touch screen or a pointer.
- In Doodle Checkers and Doodle Chess, games against the computer have a move timer (90 seconds a move on the easiest level, less on harder ones). It can be switched off with the timer button during the game. Games with a friend have a move timer that cannot be switched off.
- Some decorations and characters move on the home screen even in calm mode (more slowly).
- The game and these pages are in English only.
We are working on these. If something stops you or your child from playing, please tell us: it helps us decide what to fix first.

How this statement was made
This statement is based on our own checks of the website and the app on 2 November 2026 (automated layout and colour checks, and checks by hand). It has not yet been reviewed by an outside accessibility expert.
