Terms of Use

Doodle Checkers (the website doodlecheckers.com and the Doodle app). Last updated 29 October 2026 (operator named as taproute.io; earlier: diamonds, the Doodle Club and Sign in with Apple in the iPhone and iPad app).

The short version, for kids:

The rest of this page is for grown-ups.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Doodle Checkers is made and run by taproute.io (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the website doodlecheckers.com, the Doodle apps and every game in them: checkers, chess, Crazy Checkers, Wolf & Sheep, Giveaway Checkers, Breakthrough, Lines of Action, Arimaa, and My Doodle (together, “Doodle”).

By using Doodle you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If a child uses Doodle, the parent or guardian agrees to these terms for the child and is responsible for the child’s use. If you do not agree, please do not use Doodle.

2. Children and parents

3. Your account

4. Play fair, be kind

When you use Doodle you must not:

We may end a game, remove a player from a room, reset results that were not earned fairly, or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell you why.

5. Free to play; diamonds and the Doodle Club

Every game in Doodle is free to play and Doodle has no advertising. Stars, levels, trophies, ratings and medals are part of the game: they have no money value, cannot be sold or traded, and may be changed or rebalanced to keep the game fair.

Diamonds and looks. Diamonds are earned by playing (daily missions) and, in the iPhone and iPad app, can also be bought. They are spent in the Doodle shop on looks: teams, boards, costumes and other items for My Doodle. Diamonds and Doodle Club items are cosmetic virtual goods for entertainment only, non-transferable, with no cash value, and cannot be traded or cashed out. They only change how things look, never who wins. What you get with diamonds is a licence to use that look in Doodle, not property; it stays with your account for as long as we offer Doodle. There are no random rewards or loot boxes and no countdowns.

Buying in the app.

The Doodle Club is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. While it is active: every item marked for the club in the shop is open to you, and each calendar month you get 300 diamonds and that month’s club-only item, the first time you open Doodle in that month (a month in which Doodle is not opened is not paid later). Diamonds and items you received or bought stay yours when the club ends; club items you did not get to keep close again.

Refunds. Apple handles payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple’s rules and your legal rights. We cannot refund App Store purchases ourselves. If Apple refunds a purchase, we take back what it gave: the diamonds, or, if they were already spent, the looks bought with them.

Right of withdrawal (European Union and United Kingdom). As a consumer you usually have 14 days to withdraw from a contract for digital content. Diamonds and club items are delivered straight away, so at purchase you ask for immediate delivery and acknowledge that you then lose the right of withdrawal, as the law allows. This does not limit any right to cancel or get a refund that Apple gives you, or your rights if something you bought does not work as described.

We may change the shop (new looks, prices in diamonds, which items the club opens) for future purchases. If we ever close Doodle, we will stop selling first and give notice in the game at least 60 days before, and we will deal with unused bought diamonds as the law requires.

App Store. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple: Apple is not responsible for Doodle or its content, has no duty to provide support for it, and is not responsible for claims about it, but Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries.

6. Our game, our characters, our code

Doodle, including its software and source code, game design, characters, drawings, animations, sounds, music, text, the name “Doodle Checkers” and its logos, is owned by taproute.io and protected by copyright and other laws. All rights are reserved.

We give you a personal, non-commercial, revocable permission to use Doodle as offered: to play it in your browser or in our app. You may not, unless the law expressly allows it or we agree in writing:

Some parts of Doodle are other people’s free software (for example Phaser, our fonts and, on the website, the Stockfish chess engine). They are listed with their licences in the game’s notices, and nothing in these terms limits the rights those licences give you. Stockfish is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3; its source is available at github.com/official-stockfish/Stockfish.

The classic rules of checkers, chess and the other board games belong to everyone. Our own version of them, how they look and the code behind them do not.

7. Ideas and feedback

We love ideas. If you send us one, you let us use it freely, without owing you anything for it. Please don’t send us anything you want to keep secret.

8. Changes and availability

Doodle is a living game: we add, change and sometimes remove games and features, and we may reset practice results when rules change. We try to keep Doodle running all the time, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or that saved results will never be lost.

9. Our responsibility

The games are offered free of charge and “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for loss caused by things outside our reasonable control, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the greater of what you paid for Doodle purchases in the 12 months before the claim and 100 Israeli shekels. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under the law of your country.

10. Ending

You can stop using Doodle and delete your account at any time. Deleting the account removes its diamonds, looks and Doodle Club benefits for good, and they cannot be refunded or moved to another account; cancel a Doodle Club subscription in your Apple ID settings first. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. If we ever close Doodle, we will try to give notice on the website first.

11. Copyright and other complaints

If you believe something on Doodle infringes your rights, or someone has copied Doodle, write to support@taproute.io with: what the work is, where you found the copy (a link), your contact details, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you own the rights or act for the owner.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell signed-in players in the game before they take effect. If you keep using Doodle after that, the new terms apply.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Tel Aviv-Jaffa have jurisdiction, except where the law of your country gives you, as a consumer, the right to its own mandatory protections or to bring a claim in your own courts. Let’s talk first: most problems are solved by writing to us.
