Do I need an account?
No. Tap PLAY and you are in a game. Signing in only saves your games, your record, your My Doodle pet and your diamonds, so a grown-up should set it up together with a child.
How do I sign in?
- In the iPhone and iPad app: tap Sign in, then “Sign in with Apple”, and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. We do not ask Apple for a name or an email address; your account gets a made-up Doodle name that you can change.
- On doodlecheckers.com: tap Sign in and choose Apple, Google or a code sent by email.
We never see a password, and we never keep an email address.
Can I play without internet?
Yes, in the app. With no connection, tap “Play the bots” and play checkers, chess and the board games against the computer. Games with friends need the internet.
How do I play with a friend?
Choose “Play a friend”, then send the link or show the code. Your friend opens it on their own phone or computer. No account is needed.
How do I delete my data?
- Signed in: tap your name at the top of the home screen, then “Delete everything”. Your account, games, pet, diamonds and purchases are removed straight away, and in the app the Sign in with Apple link is removed too. Cancel a Doodle Club subscription first (see above): deleting does not cancel it.
- To keep a copy first, choose “Download my data”.
- Can’t sign in any more? Write to us and we will help you delete it. More in the Privacy policy.
Is there anything to buy, or ads?
There are no ads and no tracking, and every game is free. In the iPhone and iPad app a grown-up can buy diamond packs or the Doodle Club. They only change how things look (teams, boards, costumes), never who wins. Diamonds can also be earned by playing. The website sells nothing.
Buying diamonds or the Doodle Club (for grown-ups)
- Sign in in the app, open My Doodle and its shop, and choose a diamond pack or the Doodle Club.
- A grown-up question appears first: hold the button, then pick the answer to a sum or a product. Apple’s purchase sheet then shows the price; confirm it with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple password. Screen Time and Ask to Buy work as usual.
- The Doodle Club renews by itself every month or every year until it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. While it is on: all the club looks, plus 300 diamonds and a club-only look each month.
Restoring purchases on a new iPhone or iPad
Sign in with Apple in the app on the new device: what you bought comes back by itself. If something is missing, tap your name at the top of the home screen and tap “Restore purchases” (after the grown-up question). Use the same Apple ID that made the purchase.
Cancelling the Doodle Club
On the iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Doodle Club (Doodle Checkers) → Cancel Subscription. In the app you can also tap your name at the top of the home screen, then manage the club (after the grown-up question), which opens the same Apple page. The club stays on until the end of the month or year already paid. Deleting your Doodle account does not cancel it: cancel it here first.
Refunds
Apple takes the payment, so refunds are asked for from Apple: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID that paid, and choose the purchase. Apple decides under its rules. If a purchase was made by mistake, write to us too and we will help where we can.
Someone used a rude name
In a friend game, tap “Report a name”: in checkers and chess it is under the sticker button, in the other games tap Back, and it is also on the card at the end of the game. A grown-up at Doodle looks at every report.
